At David Gardner’s Jewelers, anniversary gifts are some of our favorites to help our customers select. An anniversary is a chance to pause and reflect on all the joys, challenges, and wins you’ve gone through with the love of your life. It’s a time for showing your beloved just how much you still admire, honor, and cherish them years after you said your vows.

Our team had the incredible privilege of designing Emily and Lee Travis’s rings. This couple has a special place in our hearts and their love story helped inspire our new Gift Guide as they celebrate their first anniversary.

Commemorating Emily & Lee’s First Anniversary

Emily Herren Travis, more well-known as ‘Champagne & Chanel’ to her Instagram following of more than one million, married the love of her life in October of 2021. The David Gardner family met Emily during the Summer of 2017 and instantly fell in love with her kind-hearted and gracious spirit, her vivacious nature, and her passion for fashion. For years, we have partnered with her on various marketing endeavors and have watched our initial business relationship blossom into a friendship.

We were honored and enthused to collaborate with her now-husband Lee Travis on her engagement ring design. The two wed in Austin, Texas, last October at the Commodore Perry Estate with a breathtakingly beautiful ceremony and reception.

Whether you go with a .10 carat or 5 carat diamond, a classic pendant is a timeless way to ring in an anniversary milestone. We’ll collaborate with you as you bring the style and shape of pendant you’re envisioning into a reality. You may even want to explore David’s signature design element: adding secret gemstones and other small details that hold sentimental value.

Stackable Diamond Bands

DG diamond bands can be worn interchangeably or stacked together. If you selected a traditional diamond band for your wedding day, consider stepping out with fancy shapes or mixing shapes and metals. Or go bold with colored gemstones that give a head-nod to your anniversary month or your children’s birthstones.

Additional Inspiration if You Prefer the Traditional Route

While the DG-approved anniversary guide is a great place to start, maybe you need a bit more guidance in what gemstones and metals to incorporate into your partner’s gift. Here’s an overview of traditional anniversary jewelry by year, as suggested by both Jewelers of America and The American Gem Trade Association.

1st Anniversary: Gold

Nothing can match the sweetness of a couple’s first wedding anniversary. Gold is the traditional metal that corresponds to this marital milestone.

5th Anniversary: Sapphire

Pay tribute to five years of wedded bliss with a sapphire that symbolizes loyalty and integrity. Blue is one of the most popular shades this gemstone comes in. But you can also find it in pink, violet, and white if one of those hues goes better with your beloved’s style.

10th Anniversary: Diamond

A decade deserves a special celebration that’s extra sparkly. Treat your spouse to a DG diamond pendant, band, earrings, or tennis bracelet. Not only does the diamond stand for everlasting love and devotion, but it also speaks to the strength and transparency of your marriage relationship.

20th Anniversary: Emerald

Gift her an emerald as you celebrate two decades of sharing life with your favorite person. Traditionally tied with Venus, the goddess of love and beauty, this gem represents youth, good fortune, and rebirth — all qualities suited for jumpstarting another 10 years together!

30th Anniversary: Pearl

Pearls develop slowly, layer-by-layer — just like a love story that’s stood the test of time. It’s not surprising that it’s the chosen gem for a 30th anniversary. Consider a pearl necklace or studs to show your partner just how much she (still) means to you as you continue to write your story as a couple.

40th Anniversary: Ruby

The bold and brilliant ruby expresses eternal love and passion, making it a fantastic gemstone to choose for your 40th anniversary. It’s also thought to bring health, wealth, and wisdom as you and your partner continue life’s journey.

A marriage anniversary is the celebration of love, trust, partnership, tolerance, and tenacity. The order varies for any given year.
