Heart for Giving2021-11-10T13:53:38-06:00

Giving back to the community is at the heart of everything we do at David Gardner’s.

One of our greatest joys is partnering with community organizations to raise money. Each piece is thoughtfully selected to meet the needs of the organization. We get really excited when organizations strategically take our donation and multiply the potential through lots of hard work on their part. THAT motivates us to give big!

The Texas A&M Collegiate Panhellenic Council (CPC) hosted emerging leaders from every sorority to a “Polished Event” at David Gardner’s Jewelers during Panhellenic’s Redefine Week.

More than 60 young women were invited to learn about developing their leadership potential from Randi Mays-Knapp and becoming a polished professional from Julia Gardner. Both speakers are seasoned community leaders and distinguished women in their own right giving the sorority women a well-rounded view of leadership both in corporate and small business leadership.

The “Polish” theme of the week fit perfectly with the venue of a jewelry store. Julia Gardner reminded the women that all diamonds and metal, such as gold, come out of the ground dull. It is through the process of polishing, always with an abrasive substance, that makes the diamond or gold beautiful. And it is through life’s painful or tough times that a woman can be refined, polished to truly reflect the light inside of her.

The Junior League of Bryan/College Station unveiled their 35th Anniversary Charity Ball theme at their annual Preview Party at David Gardner’s Jewelers on Friday, August 19th. The announcement of the 35th anniversary theme had a double surprise as they announced the charity ball’s theme would be “Fire and Ice” along with a venue change to the Hall of Champions at Kyle Field on December 3rd.

The organization announced their lofty $70,000 fundraising goal to be raised from raffle ticket sales. David Gardner’s Jewelers has partnered with the Junior League for many years and is donating two items this year with a combined value of more than $30,000 to assist the organization in reaching their goal.

“The Junior League of Bryan/College Station is the largest raffle fundraiser in the Brazos Valley. It is exciting to see them continue to increase their goal every year,” said David Gardner. “We are thrilled to be a part of it this year and give two individuals a chance to win.”

This year the items are a 4.5 carat total weight diamond and platinum line bracelet and a David Gardner large pave’ circle pendant with a removable ATM insert. The pendant has 3.45 carats of diamonds and can be worn in a variety of ways. Tickets are $50 each or 3 for $100 and can be purchased now through December 3rd.

For years, OPAS has brought top-notch performances to our community with the help of all of you. David Gardner’s was honored to be a part of the raffle again this year – donating “Jewelry for a Year,” $1,000 a month for 12 months – and congratulates the OPAS team for raising more than $28,000 from the raffle alone. Thank you to each of you for your contributions to this great and important organization.

A special thank you to Kara Holmgreen, Liesl Wesson, Monica Latham and Anne Black for asking David Gardner’s Jewelers to host. Your efforts to make our community great through performing arts do not go unnoticed and you have our complete and full support.

We were so honored to be asked to be a part of the 13th annual Surviving & Thriving Luncheon. How could we say anything but a resounding YES when dear friends and breast cancer survivors Reba Ragsdale and Doris Light came to see us?!

It didn’t take long to determine DG’s latest double halo diamond pendant would be fun, but TWO personalized matching pendants – one for Joan Lunden and one for the raffle winner – would be even better!

The committee’s excitement was palpable and the audience at the luncheon, over 800 strong, responded. We were “Shocked and THRILLED,” as David said, to hear $29,000 was raised at Surviving & Thriving for Pink Alliance through the raffle!

Isn’t this community amazing?! Isn’t this organization a true celebration of overcoming obstacles?! We were so moved as survivors were celebrated for their fight against breast cancer. We could not be more honored to have been a small part in raising money for such a worthy cause.
