Celebrating Mays Business School’s 50th Anniversary

Julia and David were honored to co-host a 50th Anniversary kickoff party for Texas A&M’s Mays Business School with Brandon Coleman, a member of the Dean’s Advisory Board and co-chair of Marketing and Communications, and Carri Baker, a member of the Dean's Advisory Board. The college is celebrating with “Roadshow” kickoff events across the United States preceding the much anticipated 50th Anniversary Celebration Weekend September 6-7.

About Mays Business School:

The Texas A&M College of Business Administration was formed in 1968, and John E. Pearson was named dean. It was not until 2002 that the college was renamed Mays Business School. Over the years, Mays has gathered many prestigious accolades and awards such as being accredited by AACSB-International, the premier accrediting agency and service organization for business schools. It was also recently named one of the Forbes Top 20 Best Business Schools and is growing exponentially in innovation and modernization.

Mays Business School has a worldwide network of more than 62,000 former students that are a close-knit and supportive community of past, present, and future Aggies. David, class of ‘78 Mays graduate, is excited to celebrate the milestone. “You know, it’s cool because I am a graduate of the first decade. To achieve what it’s achieved is amazing and something we can be proud of, but to achieve this in only half a century is beyond description.” David said. Among the attendees of the Roadshow event were members of the Dean’s Advisory Board, several outstanding alumni, and Mays’ department heads, to name a few. Three generations of leadership were also present that evening, making it an incredibly special event. David said about the leadership of Mays, “I think the leadership of the school has enhanced the value of my degree every year that I’ve been out. They increase the value of wearing that ring with every progression they make.
